AMBER SHIPLEY

AMBER SHIPLEY

Amber N. Shipley, born and raised in Uniontown, is an Associate at Gaydos Law, P.C. Amber is new to the firm and will handle a variety of cases, including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, protections from abuse, education matters, and general civil litigation cases.

Amber’s prior experience as a Child Custody Conciliator brings a different perspective to domestic cases. It enables her to realistically assess child custody matters to facilitate favorable custody orders for her clients. While she advocates for the client’s position to the greatest extent possible in court, she is also keenly aware that working out an agreement outside of court can be more beneficial for all parties involved –especially the children. She provides clients with realistic expectations and helps them to understand the reality of their particular factual situation.

In addition to her work in family law, Amber has intimate experience in the educational system from primary school through college. She has worked as a collegiate student conduct administrator in the disciplinary processes. She has also worked as an administrator regarding 504 plans, and has advocated for students in IEP and 504 plan matters.

Amber has also completed two clerkships –one with the Honorable Judge John F. Wagner, Jr. in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas right after law school and one with the Honorable President Judge Katherine B. Emery in the Washington County Court of Common Pleas this year. These clerkships were invaluable experiences to gain legal research and writing experience, as well as to see how the judicial process works from the inside. This intimate knowledge of the courts enables Amber to guide clients to make the most beneficial decisions.

Amber graduated Cum Laude from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2009. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from West Virginia University in 2014.

Amber lives in Uniontown with her husband, daughters, and a menagerie of animals. When she isn’t in the office or in court, Amber enjoys expressing her creative side through crafting or cooking. She also enjoys spending time with her children at their various extra-curricular activities, with her whole family at events at Faith Assembly church in Uniontown, and with her husband completing projects around the house or just relaxing together. The whole family also enjoys traveling and experiencing all that life has to offer.
